Inner – Provinces Meeting of Franciscan Novices from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic of Croatia
Meeting was held from October 8 to October 11 in Medjugorje. Hosting Province was Herzegovinian Franciscan Province of Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary and their Novice in Humac. Nineteen novices participated. The meeting started with prayer of the Rosary, Holy Mass and introduction of Novices. Hosts were introduced first, and then Novices from Trsat and Livno were introduced. Novices had opportunity to meet Herzegovinian Franciscan Province and they first went to Mostar where they saw Provincial house and were greeted by Provincial Fr. Ivan Sesar and brothers from the Monastery. After they were introduced to the events and destruction from the time of the recent war, they also saw reconstruction of the Monastery with the emphasis on religious – cultural activities. Novices went afterwards to Siroki Brijeg, and were able to see huge cultural heritage of this Monastery. What followed was trip to Humac, another monastery where they also met brothers and were introduced to the life of this Monastery and saw life of Herzegovinian Seminarians. On the last day they celebrated Holy Mass in Medjugorje parish church, and on behalf of parish community Fr. Petar Vlasic greeted novices and congratulated them on their life choice, wishing them to sustain on the path they had chosen.
