Yestarday , February 7th, Široki Brijeg became the center of the Herzegovina. The long procession of priests, deacons, seminarians and religious, along with the great number of parishioners and their guests from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia gathered in the church yard at the memorial place , once a war shelter. It is there that in 1945, the Franciscan friars were killed by the bullet in the back of the head, and then burnt to death. People has never forgotten that year, 1945. , when when we have lost 66 Franciscans by communists. The procession went to church, FRAMA sings "The Lord is my Shepard", prayers said by the tomb where 22 friars were buried, 66 names have been pronounced and than the Holy mass. The main celebrant was fra Miljenko Šteko the vicar of the Herzegovina Franciscan Province.
