Father Tomislav Ivancic is coming back to Medjugorje from 28-30.01.2011.

Spiritual exercises with Medjguorje parishioners will be held in our church. It is arranged also that father meets parishioners in separate groups ( children, youth, guides, guest-house owners etc) at evening hours as it was already done on previous occasions.

I am really looking forward for this opportunity as I know he will something special for us guides and of course to to meet him without usual "rush".

Tomislav Ivančić (born 1938) is a Croatian theologian and academic.

Ivančić was born in Davor, Croatia. After the study of philosophy and theology in Zagreb and Rome he was ordained priest of the Zagreb Archdiocese in 1966. After achieving a doctorate at the Papal Gregorian University in Rome, he returned to Zagreb to become professor at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the University of Zagreb. He is head of the Chair of Fundamental Theology, was one of the editors of the magazine “Bogoslovska smotra” (Theogian’s Review), is member of the editorial boards and associate of many Croatian and foreign theology magazines and member of the Croatian Literary Translators’ Association. Since 1983 he is canon of Zagreb’s Cathedral Chapter.

The areas of his scientific work are philosophy, theology and literature. The area of his special interest is the research of men’s existential-spiritual dimension, in which he discovers new possibilities and ways of modern evangelisation and the need of developing spiritual medicine, which - next to somatic and psychiatric medicine - is indispensable in the holistic healing of man, and especially in healing spiritual illnesses and addictions. For this purpose he developed the method of hagiotherapy and founded the Centre for Spiritual Help in 1990 in Zagreb, which he is the head of.

Apart from working at the Faculty, since 1971 Tomislav was also a religious teacher for students in Zagreb, the initiator of the prayer movement in the Church in Croatia, founder of the religious community “Prayer and Word” (Zajednica “Molitva i Riječ”) and the “Centre for a Better World”, as well as lecturer at numerous seminars for the spiritual renewal in Croatia and abroad. In the last decade he has been training persons to work in centres for spiritual help and hold seminars for the apostolate of evangelisation in Croatia and abroad.

His scientific and expert articles are published in Croatian and foreign magazines. He wrote more than 50 books, of which almost the half was translated into foreign languages, whereas some have been published only in foreign languages. His book “Follow Me” (Pođi za mnom) was translated in 12 languages. He was editor-in-chief of the magazine “Steps” (Koraci), and then “New Steps” (Novi koraci), as well as founder of the magazine “Hagiotherapy” (Hagioterapija).

From 1998 until 2001 he was dean of the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Zagreb. In September 2001 he was elected Head of the University of Zagreb

On 9 February 2004 Pope John Paul II designated him member of the International Theological Commission, presided over by the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, today’s Pope Benedict XVI.

Ivančić is author and host of a very popular radio program “Lord, teach us to pray” which is broadcasted during the academic year.

New bishop for Dubrovnik is the youngest Croatian Bishop.

The new bishop speaks Croatian and Italian and good English and has a Facebook profile. The new Dubrovnik bishop posted his thanks on his Facebook wall.

"I consider the service that has been entrusted to me more as a great responsibility than an honour. I hope that it will remain so. Still, from my heart I thank all those who have congratulated me. May God bless you!" he wrote.

It is a great joy for me tonight to be here with you and give you my testimony.
We thought that we would start at six because thinking of the time of the
apparition in Medjugorje, that is at quarter to seven. But we made a mistake
because we forgot that we are an hour ahead of here in England. Our Lady had
foreseen everything. And I think She wanted to say to all of us, Welcome!
And also through my testimony tonight I want to make each and every one of you
fall in love with Our Lady.

When Our Lady first appeared to us, none of us could imagine that this could
happen. We started this wonderful adventure on the Apparition Hill; this
adventure that touched the heart of so many of you. We were amazed by this grace
when it first happened that Our Lady appeared, and we thought: Why did She
choose us, why just us?

An extended duration of alleged apparitions in one place is no longer “something that generates suspicion

VATICAN CITY - When the Bishop of Green Bay, Wisconsin recently recognised a series of Marian apparitions from 1859, it marked the first time apparitions in the United States received official approval.
That’s quite an achievement considering that more than 1,500 visions of Mary have been reported around the world, but in the past century only nine cases have received official Church approval as being “worthy of belief,” said an expert in Marian apparitions.
The Church has made very few judgments on apparition claims.
“It’s not always possible to ascertain if they are true or false because the phenomenon is much bigger than us,” said Marianist Fr Salvatore Perrella, assistant dean at the Pontifical Theological Faculty Marianum and a theologian who also serves as an expert for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
The enormous job of determining the veracity of an apparition falls to the local Bishop, said Fr Perrella. To help with that task, the Vatican’s doctrinal congregation established a set of norms in 1978 to guide the process of discernment and the investigation of reported apparitions and revelations.
The process “is never brief,” said Fr Perrella. For example, the Green Bay apparitions received approval 151 years after the first apparition was reported, but that’s just half of the nearly 300 years it took the Church to approve the apparitions of Our Lady of Laus in France, he said.
The process is lengthy because visionaries and witnesses must be questioned and “the fruits of the apparitions, such as conversions, miracles and healings” must be examined, he said.
The local Bishop sets up a commission of experts, including theologians, canonists, psychologists and doctors, to help him.
According to the norms, the Bishop and his commission “must determine the veracity of the facts and the mental, moral and spiritual wholesomeness and seriousness of the visionary and his or her testimony,” he said.
Fr Perrella said that when the Bishop’s investigation is complete, he can come to one of three conclusions: he can determine the apparition to be true and worthy of belief; he can say it is not true, which leaves open the possibility for an appeal; or he can say that at the moment he doesn’t know and needs more help.
In the last scenario, the investigation is brought to the country’s Bishops’ conference, Fr Perrella said. If the body of Bishops cannot come to a conclusion, then the matter is turned over to the Pope who delegates the doctrinal congregation to step in and either give advice, send a commissioner and-or set up a commission to investigate.
At every step of the investigation, “the person in charge of everything is the Bishop,” he said.
The alleged apparitions at Medjugorje in Bosnia-Herzegovina are an example of a situation in which the country’s Bishops requested the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to intervene.
The congregation established an international commission in 2010 to investigate the claims of six young people who said Mary appeared to them daily beginning in 1981.
The apparitions apparently are continuing and thousands of people travel to the small town each month to meet the alleged seers and to pray.
Fr Perrella, a member of the Vatican commission to study the alleged Medjugorje apparitions, told CNS the work is only just beginning.
“The Pope wants a decisive conclusion made,” he said, adding that it will be a very long process.
The case under study “is a serious thing” that is “very complex” though not impossible to resolve, he said.
For the past 30 years, people have claimed to see apparitions of Mary at Medjugorje.
Such an extended duration of alleged apparitions in one place is no longer “something that generates suspicion,” he said.
That’s because there are similar precedents such as the apparitions of Our Lady of Laus, which lasted 54 years and received formal Church recognition in 2008.
The Church approaches each claim “with the maximum prudence, investigative rigor and an invitation to live out the Gospel rather than follow the apparitions,” he said.
In fact, the Church never requires the faithful to believe in the Marian apparitions, not even those recognized by the Church, he said. But “by believing in the resurrection of Christ, one can believe in the apparition of Mary” in which Mary is actually present in her body and can be seen on earth, he said.
The Catholic Church affirms that Mary was assumed, body and soul, into heaven and that she, like Christ, defeated death and triumphs in heavenly glory with the totality of her being.
For that reason, Fr Perrella said, Mary can appear in bodily form while the saints or other deceased can’t.
“Mary never comes on her own accord; she is ‘God’s ambassador’” charged with a specific message for a specific time and place, he said.
He said that while the apparitions and messages are never the same, in general, Mary appeals for people’s conversion and seeks to assure men and women that they are not alone in the world and can depend on God’s loving mercy.
Her appearance is not meant to result in her glorification, but of God’s, he said.

Prvi dio ispita za vodiča u Međugorju u Ožujku

Ispit za vodiča u Međugorju održat će se u dvorani Ivana Pavla II (žuta dvorana) u utorak 29. ožujka 2011. Vrijeme polaganja je od 9,30 do 12, i od 14 do 16,30 sati. Svi zainteresirani, (posebno pozivamo one koji rade sa hodočasnicima a nisu članovi Društva vodiča i nemaju položen stručni ispit da legaliziraju svoj status), mogu se prijaviti u Ured informacija  u Međugorju najkasnije do 1. veljače 2011.

Sa sobom trebaju ponijeti sljedeće dokumente:

-Krsni list
-Preporuku od župnika o uzornom kršćanskom životu
-Izvadak iz matične knjige rođenih
-Uvjerenje o BiH državljanstvu
-Potvrdu o stručnoj spremi (svjedodžba iz srednje škole minimalno, potvrda o dosadašnjem radu, ostala stručna sprema...)
-Uplatiti 50 KM

Dokumenti trebaju biti orginalni ili ovjerene fotokopije i ne stariji od 3 mjeseca.
Materija za polaganje ispita:
-Poznavanje Svetog pisma (predavanja od 3. do 5. veljače, 2011.)
-Povijest crkve (predavanja od 7. do 9. veljače 2011.)

-Povijest i duhovnost Međugorja (predavanja od 14. do 16. veljače, 2011.)
-Katekizam katoličke crkve (predavanja od 21. do 23. veljače 2011.)

Sva predavanja su u dvorani Ivana Pavla II (žuta dvorana) i traju od 15 - 17 sati.

Drugi dio ispita za vodiča u Međugorju

Preduvjeti za drugi dio ispita koji je praktični:

-Potvrda o položenom prvom dijelu ispita održanog u utorak 29. ožujka 2011.
-Uvjerenje o položenom državnom ispitu za vodiča.

Drugi dio ispita bit će u studenom 2011. godine. O ostalim detaljima ćete biti obavješteni pravovremeno. Ispit za prevoditelje i simultane prevoditelje biti će od 1. do. 10. travnja 2011. Ispitu mogu pristupiti oni koji su zadovoljili gornje uvjete. Članovi Društva vodiča nisu dužni polagati Državni ispit i praktični dio.

Apre a Genova la discoteca cristiana

Si suonano hit religiose, al mixer un giovane sacerdote ex deejay

Gesu' si e' fatto deejay per avvicinare i giovani a Dio nella prima "discoteca cristiana" della diocesi di Genova, inaugurata l'estate  scorsa sulla spiaggia di Arenzano per far ballare d'estate i turisti e i parrocchiani in allegria, pregando e divertendosi.
L'idea e' di don Roberto Fiscer, genovese, 33 anni, vice parroco di Arenzano ordinato dal segretario di Stato Vaticano Tarcisio Bertone. Ex deejay sulla navi da crociera, diventato sacerdote nel Giubileo del 2000, si e' inventato la "discoteca cristiana" per diffondere tra i giovani la parola di Gesu'. Ieri, alla 'prima', hanno ballato disco hit religiose come 'Shake the devil off' (Scaccia via il diavoletto) un centinaio di giovani, mamme, papa', nonni, tra i quali si sono mischiati giornalisti, fotografi, cameraman, curiosi, persino una donna musulmana con il velo sul capo, sorridente al ritmo della musica "Gesu' ti ama".
Cuffie, mixer, indosso la maglietta della Madonna di Lourdes e tanta energia, don Roberto Fiscer dalla consolle improvvisata dei Bagni San Pietro di Arenzano, una struttura privata di una sua amica, ha suonato musica dance cristiana fino a notte fonda. Ingresso libero, pacifici buttafuori i frati del Santuario Gesu' Bambino di Praga, cocktail alcolici disponibili solo per gli adulti, la prima discoteca cristiana di Genova diventera' un appuntamento fisso ad Arenzano per tutta l'estate 2010 (ogni mercoledi' dalle ore 21 alle 23.30 circa).
"Don Roberto - ha commentato la giovane parrocchiana Anna, tra le piu' scatenate sulla pista da ballo - e' innamorato della Madonna, ci sa fare con i bambini, gli piace essere un animatore, punta molto alla preghiera, ci fa conoscere Gesu' divertendoci, e' ovvio che chi ha Gesu' nel cuore si diverte". "Mi piace andare anche nelle normali discoteche - ha continuato Anna - non bisogna essere troppo rigidi, ogni cristiano ha due casse da suonare, la prima della preghiera, la seconda del divertimento. Non si deve essere cristiani e musoni, e' importante divertirsi ed essere felici con Gesu'".

Many of you are aware I recently returned from a trip to Medjugorje. I know that among good, orthodox, devout Catholics there are varying opinions on this place, so I want to let you in on my own thinking. Whatever you decide, let us not allow any division to occur from this; we have too much in common with each other; things that we share with so few in today’s world!

PELLEGRINAGGIO A MEDJUGORJE DAL 17 - 20/03/2011

Partenza  da Santa Croce Bigolina, ( Riviera Berica ) ore,5.00 in pullman.  Arrivo a Medjugorje  previsto per le ore ( 17.00 ) circa.

 All’andata , e ritorno ci si fermerà a Gospic. All’andata sarà previsto il pranzo a base di carne ai ferri, al ritorno si pranzerà  a base di pesce. Arrivo  previsto a Medjugorje,  verso le ore ( 17.00 ).

Venerdì 18,, si salirà il monte delle apparizioni, ( Pobdrdo ) ore 11.00 S. Messa in lingua italiana. Ore 12.30, ci sarà il pranzo in pensione. Se sarà possibile assisteremo anche all’apparizione straordinaria a Mirjana nel giorno del suo compleanno  Pomeriggio, se è possibile ci sarà qualche incontro coi veggenti.

Sabato 19, festività di S. Giuseppe,  si salirà il monte della Croce; ( Krizevac ) nel pomeriggio, si incontreranno le varie realtà di Medjugorje. Ricordo che prima di tutto è un pellegrinaggio, e non un viaggio turistico. Quindi il programma non e fisso perché a Medjugorje non si può fare un programma fisso.

Domenica 20, ritorno a casa, partenza prevista, ore 7,3°\ 8,00. Arrivo previsto verso le ore 8,00 9,00, ( Nel pacchetto del viaggio, è prevista anche l’assicurazione personale. )

Ricordo che per giungere a Medjugorje, serve la carta d’identità, senza il timbro di rinnovo, perché la Bosnia non accetta il documento con il timbro ( controllare la scadenza ) o passaporto. La temperatura e come qui in Italia, portare con sé scarpe da ginnastica per la salita ai vari monti, una felpa.
