"The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, has written to the Bishop of Christchurch, the Rt Revd Victoria Matthews, offering his prayers in the aftermath of the earthquake in New Zealand.
In his letter, Dr Williams said:
'We are all thinking of you constantly in the wake of yesterday's terrible news, and our prayers are with you. The devastation of the Cathedral is dreadful, but, as you have said yourself, it is only a sign of the real human tragedy, whose scale is so serious. We thank God that you and your people are there to offer strength and comfort to all those caught up in the personal suffering this has brought.
We hope that the rescue operations are going forward without obstacles and that the toll of casualties will not grow higher. I know that the people of Canterbury in particular, with their historic associations with Christ Church, will be sharing very specially in prayer for you all.'"

Il Pontificio Seminario Minore è dietro al Vaticano, addossato alle sue mura. Il suo studio al quarto piano è tappezzato da una biblioteca imponente: patristica, teologia, filosofia. Alcuni libri sono un po' consunti, lungamente negli anni compitati. Lui è uguale a sempre, gli occhi chiari e acuti sul viso magro. Oggi, sono ottant'anni. «Sto bene – sorride – solo l'insonnia mi disturba un po'». Non sembra curarsi granché, di questo compleanno. Troppo da fare: la responsabilità del Progetto culturale, la Fondazione Benedetto XVI, la presidenza della Commissione su Medjugorje, «E poi studio» dice. Cosa, Eminenza? «Studio attorno al tema di Dio. In autunno comincerò a scrivere un libro sulla ragionevolezza della fede in Dio».

Camillo Ruini, classe 1931, sacerdote a ventitré anni, vescovo, poi cardinale, presidente della Cei per 16 anni, dal 1991 al 2007. Una vita per la Chiesa. Eppure la sua vocazione somiglia più a quelle dei seminaristi di oggi, che del passato. Sassuolo, provincia di Reggio Emilia, anni Trenta: una famiglia borghese, una dinastia di medici. Credenti, ma non ferventi praticanti. Il ragazzo Ruini legge a 13 anni, nella Vulgata, in latino, i Vangeli. Ne resta affascinato. A sedici anni entra nell'Azione Cattolica. Poi improvvisamente sceglie, sarà sacerdote. I genitori ostili a quell'idea, e angosciati: si aspettavano un medico, o una laurea, una sicura professione. E invece prevale la seduzione di una fede liberamente riscoperta, e difesa in appassionate discussioni, al liceo, con il professore di filosofia.

Fai il conto: aveva 14 anni alla fine della guerra, entrava in Ac nel 1947. Anni pesanti. Cosa ricorda, di quell'alba della Repubblica? «In Emilia, negli anni 1944-46, il clima da guerra civile. Dieci preti assassinati in pochi mesi. Il dolore del vescovo di Reggio, Socche, contro questa strage, il suo pastorale battuto contro il pavimento del Duomo, nel grido: "Basta!"». In questo clima a 18 anni Ruini decide che con Dio vuole mettere tutto se stesso in gioco. Laureato alla Gregoriana, ordinato, torna a Reggio a insegnare filosofia e teologia.

È il 1983, quando viene nominato vescovo ausiliare della città da Giovanni Paolo II. «Il ricordo che ho di lui è prima di tutto quello di un uomo che sembrava vivere sempre al cospetto di Dio; nel pregare come nel fare, Dio c'entrava sempre per lui, non era mai estraneo alla realtà. Mi colpiva la passione con cui stava ad ascoltare chi aveva davanti, nel desiderio di capire; e quanto poco invece amava ascoltarsi e compiacersi di sé. Mi sbalordiva la sua sollecitudine pastorale, l'attenzione alle parrocchie di Roma e a ogni uomo. Come quando, già malato, lo vidi salutare tutti, uno per uno, 600 malati dell'Unitalsi».

Sedici anni alla guida della Chiesa italiana. Quale impronta pensa di avere lasciato?
«Io mi ritengo solo un interprete fedele della volontà del Papa, prima di Giovanni Paolo II, poi di Benedetto XVI. In questo senso, ciò che spero di aver trasmesso è la certezza che la secolarizzazione non è l'ultima parola sul cristianesimo, e che la fede in Cristo conserva intatta la sua giovinezza e la sua verità. Quindi ho desiderato una fede rispettosa, ma non timida; fondata nella carità, ma ben ferma nella verità – verità non posseduta, ma ricevuta in dono. Una fede che parla, che si manifesta nell'arena pubblica».

"Inculturazione della fede", è un concetto cardine del Progetto culturale. Perché?
«Più esattamente, evangelizzazione della cultura e inculturazione della fede. Perché la fede cristiana non è mai esistita "nuda", ma si è incarnata di volta in volta nelle culture dei popoli convertiti. La storia d'Italia è anche duemila anni di storia di fede cristiana incarnata. Ma, come già notava il Concilio Vaticano II, nella modernità i mutamenti sono sempre più rapidi; e il cristianesimo non vuole né deve fermare, ma orientare questi mutamenti».

La "sfida educativa" è un altro tema su cui lei insiste. Recentemente il cardinale Bagnasco ha parlato di un «disastro antropologico» di natura educativa. L'analisi è la stessa?
«Sì. Condivido questa preoccupazione, alla prima origine della quale vedo un oscuramento dell'orizzonte antropologico; oscuramento che consiste nel mettere in discussione la differenza qualitativa fra l'uomo e il resto dei viventi. Ma noi non siamo riducibili alla natura. L'uomo è intelligenza e libertà, e dunque responsabilità. Senza di ciò, non avrebbe senso la croce di Cristo».

Se le chiedessero lo stato di salute della fede in Italia?
«La situazione non è facile, benché sia migliore che nel resto dell'Occidente. Confrontandoci con il Nord dell'Europa, credo sia stata giusta la scelta di reagire con energia alla secolarizzazione e di mantenere salda la tradizione. C'è in Italia uno "zoccolo duro" della fede che permane; il problema è la trasmissione della fede ai giovani. È questa la grande sfida».

E l'Italia, Eminenza? Per l'Italia lei non è preoccupato?
«Lo sono prima ancora per l'Europa. Che ha perso la sua centralità economica e politica nel mondo, ma non può rinunciare alla sua vitalità spirituale e culturale. E questo è possibile solo superando ciò che Benedetto XVI ha chiamato un "odio di se stessa" dell'Europa; è possibile, inoltre, invertendo l'attuale trend demografico. Questo non significa affatto evocare uno scontro fra civiltà, ma avere coscienza della propria missione: l'Europa deve ricordarsi di essere la patria di quell'umanesimo cristiano che ha messo al suo centro l'uomo».

E quanto all'Italia invece, in questi giorni tumultuosi?
«Anche l'Italia ha prima di tutto una vocazione, che è quella indicata da Giovanni Paolo II nel '94, al tempo della grande preghiera per la nostra Nazione: la vocazione di mantenere vivo, per l'intera Europa, il patrimonio di fede e di cultura innestato a Roma dagli apostoli Pietro e Paolo. Poi ci sono le difficoltà contingenti, politiche e economiche, che ben conosciamo. Credo siano difficoltà superabili se si evitano le crisi istituzionali; e se ogni istituzione ha rispetto delle altre istituzioni. Quanto alla crisi economica, non dimentichiamo la solidità sostanziale mantenuta dal Paese in questo difficile periodo, solidità che fa sperare per il futuro. Senza però dimenticare che conseguenza inevitabile della globalizzazione è la redistribuzione delle risorse con quello che era il terzo mondo, cosa che non lascerà intatti i nostri tenori di vita occidentali. E tuttavia io sono ottimista per l'Italia: se smettessimo di autoflagellarci e autocommiserarci potremmo guardare realisticamente ai problemi, per risolverli».

L'ottimismo di chi ha visto molto, anche il peggio, e ha più degli altri memoria. Di chi con i suoi anni può dire: passeremo anche questo momento. Oggi, per il cardinale sono ottanta. In buona salute: molto da lavorare, un libro da scrivere. Sveglia alle 6.30, alle 7.15 dice Messa, ogni mattina. Nessun rimpianto, Eminenza? Rifarebbe tutto? Ride: «Ma certo che no. Vorrei non rifare i miei peccati, non ripetere gli errori. Ma in un bilancio, io devo dire grazie. Grazie a Dio, per ottant'anni passati, bene o male, a servirlo».

Mayor Thomas Koch will travel to the Bosnian village of Medjugorje next week for a religious pilgrimage that will also take him to Rome.

The trip, which will go from the end of this week through March 1, has been planned for a year, officials said, and shouldn’t cause any disruptions in city operations, including the search for a new municipal finance director.

City Council President Kevin Coughlin will have the authority to sign all imminent documents.

The mayor’s trip comes on the heels of the resignation of Finance Director Nicholas Puleo, who has worked for the city in the role for the past year. An announcement seeking a new CFO has already been released.

“The City this week placed an advertisement in the Massachusetts Municipal Association

Beacon, one of the state’s most widely read publications for government job seekers, and Koch said he expects to have the review committee in place by the end of the week,” a press release said.

Medjugorje Today - peaceful :-)

Praised be Jesus and Mary!
Today is Sunday and I am home with children Actually they are all asleep and I am having a little time for myself and blog- much needed :-) . The life of the parish continues. Rosary on the Apparition  Hill on Sunday and way of the Cross on Krizevac on Fridays. This Friday was also special as guides organized a special novena which culminated on that Hill on Friday.   Surprisingly I am doing OK- no flue this week -) LOL .. Emanuel is so tired. Right now, along with our regular work at the Store  ( should I say storage) and art school  he is also preparing for a very demanding exams to become a Medjugorje guide for pilgrims.
The lectures will take a whole month of February and then first part of exam it self will take part on March 29th this year. We have the biggest church minds working with our future to be colleagues, thank God for that.   Bible, Catechism, history of the Church etc.. I know it will not be an easy exam to pass, I've been there :-) Passing rate can be very low, but what we need is a truly educated  and dedicated persona with a vocation. Anyway the process is very long so we will not get new colleague before December.
 Lectures are very interesting so many of the guides are using the opportunity to profit from those slow winter days renewing their knowledge or learning something new ( there is always place for improvement).
We also profit from being able to actually sit in the pews during mass :-) The other evening I went in and sat there all evening, trough rosary and mass and evening service. It was so great, first time after so many months! Nobody pushing , nobody caching me for the sleeve or weaving while passing by.I sat inside, I enjoyed the atmosphere of the church, direct look at the altar and Tabernacle.
Don't get me wrong I love you guys but you do make me leave my parish and find another church to go to mass :-)
 Luckily Herzegovina is full of churches and mass is served everywhere twice a day ( 5 on Sunday) -)))))))))) Children also enjoy it so much. We spend so much time together and around the church It became our great playground. For now! There are some works being done to make it even larger so more people can join in for the evening program.
I see that first groups are announced on 27 February, so it is coming near now
I have to prepare. Will  sleep a lot since at summer I wake up at 3 in the morning .... you know, Cross Mountain at 4 am ...  LOL :-)  Things we do! But I love it.
I know that I have to have peace in my heart first then I will carry it everywhere I go and everything will be Ok even if my groups is 166 pax :-) (that's a full charter flight form Italy, you know)
But I will  write about that some other time.

I l sorriso di Chiara non si può dimenticare. Lo ripete, commosso, Michele, amico di infanzia della beata che con la sua forza nell'affrontare la malattia ha commosso tutti. Stiamo parlando di Chiara Luce Badano, che giovedì sera è stata ricordata nella Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio a Milano con una serata in cui hanno fatto una testimonianza i genitori Ruggero e Teresa. Michele è un parrocchiano di Sant'Ambrogio, che conobbe Chiara da bambino, perché passava le estati nel paese natale della giovane, Sassello. Assieme a lui hanno ascoltato la testimonianza dei due genitori circa 2000 persone. «Questo è un posto di santi – ha detto monsignor Erminio De Scalzi, vicario episcopale della città di Milano e abate di Sant'Ambrogio – e qui questa sera apriamo le porte a una santa giovane, nello spirito con cui il cardinale arcivescovo di Milano Dionigi Tettamanzi ci ha invitato in questo anno pastorale a riflettere sulla santità». De Scalzi, che è stato delegato dall'arcivescovo di Milano per l'incontro mondiale delle famiglie che si terrà proprio in questa città nel 2012 alla presenza del Papa, ha ufficialmente invitato Ambrogio e Teresa a prendervi parte nel momento previsto per le testimonianze. Due persone semplici i genitori della beata che seduti in mezzo alla Basilica sembrano così piccoli. Eppure appena cominciano a parlare riescono a lasciare senza fiato tutte le persone che sono accorse qui ad ascoltarli. Parlano di questa figlia aspettata per undici anni, di come sia stata un vero e proprio dono: «Abbiamo capito molto presto – dice Teresa – che Chiara non era solo figlia nostra, ma anche di Dio e che bisognava crescerla nella libertà dei figli di Dio».

L'infanzia, le prime manifestazioni di una sconvolgente maturità, la bontà della piccola bimba, ma anche i suoi tormenti, le prime preghiere recitate assieme alla mamma. Tutto, nel racconto di Teresa ha un sottofondo di grande serenità nel ricordare questa vita che presto, troppo presto dovrà affrontare una prova grande. E proprio nella malattia «non riuscivo a capire quel suo sì a Gesù» – confessa candido Ruggero – . Pensava che Chiara sorridesse solo quando c'erano loro, per non abbatterli di fronte a quell'osteosarcoma che nella fase finale non le permetterà più di camminare e le darà dei dolori che la mamma e il papà cercheranno di placare anche con dei gesti semplici, come tenerle ferme le gambe con le mani. «Così – riprende Ruggero – un giorno ho guardato cosa faceva nella sua camera osservandola dal buco della serratura e l'ho fatto per alcuni giorni, solo così ho cominciato a capire quel suo colloquio con Dio, che era qualcosa di importante». Chiara diceva che ai suoi amici non doveva parlare di Gesù, doveva dare Gesù, nell'atteggiamento, nell'ascolto, nel modo di vestire e di amare: «E lei era sempre per gli altri, non pensava mai a se stessa» riprende la mamma. E ricorda, commossa, quando la sera di San Valentino li mandò a cena assieme i due genitori: «dovete cominciare ad imparare a stare da soli». Anche in questo Chiara, era straordinariamente coraggiosa e matura.

When I read this info for the first time ( without seeing the actual programe)  I was pelased that there will be an oportunity for people to come to Medjugorje on one day trip as I do know many of my pilgrims are just as busy as I am and really can not do 5 or 7 days trip. But Than I read the program and I am thinking WOW!!!! This group will be in Medjugorje at 11am and will climb Apparition Hill untill lets say 1pm and then will have lunch and go to the mountain lets say at 2h30  pm to come down at 6pm just on time for mass ..... NOW that's a true pilgrimage, a sacrifice that will not go unoticed by Our Lady :-)

Piero Mazzocchetti: Želio bih nastupiti u Međugorju ove godine

Pjevač koji će ove godine biti jedna od zvijezda Večernjakova pečata već je na konferenciji za novinare u Italiji najavio svoj nastup u Mostaru. Iako kritičari za njega kažu da je novi Pavarotti, on gaji svoj pristup, a u Mostaru planira izvesti dvije jako zahtjevne arije.

Što očekujete od nastupa u Mostaru, prvi ste put ovdje?

To je doista prvi put da sam u Mostaru i iskreno mi je čast što ću nastupiti. Prije svega radujem se što ću upoznati nove ljude, nastupiti pred velikom publikom i predstaviti naše različite kulture, iako naše kulture i način života imaju brojnih dodirnih točaka i sličnosti. U cijelom svijetu gdje nastupam, iznova želim podijeliti osjećaje, vidjeti reakcije i podijeliti sve što može toliko velika stvar poput glazbe.

Kako se doznaje, izvest ćete predivne i zahtjevne skladbe na manifestaciji Večernjakova pečata?
Da, izvest ću dvije skladbe tijekom Pečata “Nessun Dorma” i “O sole mio”. Dok sam bio dijete, stalno sam slušao operne pjevače koji su izvodili arije Puccinija, Verdija. Na poseban način bio sam povezan s Pavarottijevim izvedbama svih tih divnih pjesama jednako kao i drugih tenora poput Di Stefana, Carrerasa, pa čak i s nekih starih snimaka Enrica Carusa koji je za mene bio najveći.

Doista!
Da doista. Mislim da je jako teško izvesti Nessun Dormu. Katkada to može biti i opasno i za izvođača, ali je svejedno s druge strane to veliki izazov koji ne odbijam. Na kraju krajeva, svaki put kada nastupam i izvodim ove pjesme, osjetim veliko zadovoljstvo kao kada mislite da prstima možete “dodirnuti nebo”.

Dosta glazbenih kritičara u Vama vidi novog Pavarotija. Kako Vi na to gledate?
Nikada nisam mislio takvo što jer smatram da je Pavarotti bio jedan jedinstveni. Svaki glazbenik, naime, nastoji biti jedinstveni umjetnik sa svojom posebnošću. Pavaroti je bio najbolji zato što je bio Pavarotti. Za Carrerasa mislim da je najbolji upravo zato što je bio Carreras. Zato želim da Mazzoccheti bude jedinstven kao Mazzoccheti, a ne kao oponašatelj nekoga drugoga. Svatko mora imati nešto svoje što ga ističe. Zato ne mislim da to smatram lošim da me uspoređuju s Pavarotijem, ali želim graditi svoj osobni identitet. Pavarotti je proveo cijeli život s glazbom i također iz toga razloga ne želim zlorabiti Pavarottija jer je on istinski heroj.

Ipak nešto veže Vas i velikog pjevača Pavarottija!
S njim sam se susreo i razgovarao u Njemačkoj kada sam nastupao zajedno s Joseom Carrerasom. Tada ga je jako zanimao moj glas, a nakon nastupa na San Remu 2007. godine, započeo sam raditi s njegovim suradnikom Leoneom Magierom koji je s Pavarottijem radio četiri godine. Nakon San Rema dogodilo se nešto jako emotivno. Pavarotti je u jednim jako važnim novinama napisao kako je moj glas poseban i jedinstven. Tada sam ga ponovno susreo, no bio je nažalost jako bolestan i bili su to njegovi posljednji dani života.

U Mostaru se nalazi glazbeni centar “Pavarotti” koji je veliki umjetnik otvorio nakon rata u Bosni i Hercegovini. Hoćete li ga posjetiti i podržati njegov rad?
To je jedna od velikih stvari velikoga umjetnika. On je bio veliki podupiratelj razvoja i glazbenog obrazovanja. Koliko sam u stanju, uvijek također pomažem takve projekte.

Ipak, je li teško nositi takav teret budući da Vas se doživljava novim Pavarottijem, svi očekuju da budete još bolji?
Ne, to nije nešto što me čini nervoznim. Jednostavno želim biti ono što jesam na pozornici, ono što mogu pružiti. I kako vaša karijera napreduje, svaki dan suočavate se uvijek s novim izazovima bilo da imate tek malu prehladu ili gripu, ili ste jednostavno tek doletjeli zrakoplovom. Glas je nešto što je krhko i najvažnije ga je sačuvati. Za svakoga tenora, kada god ste na pozornici, nikada ne znate kakav će vam biti glas.

Također postoje najave da u Mostar stiže i guverner iz Pescare!
Da, također sam čuo da dolaze neki važni ljudi odavde što me čini sretnim. Imam jako puno dobrih povratnih informacija o zbivanjima u Mostaru 25. veljače. Kada sam na Googleu potražio podatke o Večernjakovu pečatu, naišao sam na određene stranice od prije tri godine što je ostavilo snažan dojam na mene. Nadam se da će tako biti i 25. veljače.

Osvojili ste treće mjesto na glazbenom festivalu u San Remu. Pomaže li to Vašoj karijeri tenora?
Nastup na San Remu za mene je bilo nešto novo, napose kao tenora. Zato što se tamo ne pojavljuje puno tenora ili općenito izvođača klasične glazbe. Andrea Bocelli, koji je danas jedan od najvažnijih pjevača na svijetu, pobijedio je tamo prije jako puno godina. Nakon Bocelija praktično sam ja bio jedini tenor koji je osvojio neku nagradu. To je jako značajno za pjevača jer otvarate sebi jako puno prostora.

Počeli ste jako rano pjevati i svirati u dobi od šest godina. Je li to vrijeme kada roditelji trebaju usmjeriti svoju djecu?
Ako ste doista talent, to se može otkriti u toj dobi. Ja sam počeo sa šest godina svirati klavir, a moji roditelji su me tada usmjerili u glazbenu školu. Jako je važno da roditelji pozorno prate svoju djecu i jednostavno će moći prepoznati i pomoći svojoj djeci da na pravi način iskoriste talente koji su im darovani.

National Medjugorje Conference to Attract Thousands to Notre Dame and South Bend

 annual National Conference on Medjugorje, being held May 21-23 at the University of Notre Dame Joyce Center.

Medjugorje, a small village in Bosnia, first drew worldwide attention when the Blessed Virgin Mary began appearing daily to six young people on June 24, 1981. The messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje regard the necessity of faith, prayer, conversion and fasting as preconditions for peace and salvation of the world. The ongoing apparitions are now in their 28th year, and Medjugorje has become one of the best-known and most visited places of pilgrimage in the Catholic world.

This year's National Medjugorje Conference will bring together an array of inspirational speakers who will give powerful testimonies of how their lives have been changed by the call of Our Lady at Medjugorje.

Approximately 1,200-1,400 attendees are expected to travel to South Bend from across the United States. She is a stay-at-home mom and lives with her husband and three children in the Chicago area.

Richard Bingold is a Catholic lay evangelist whose story of conversion has touched the hearts of thousands of people around the world. He is the founder of the Miraculous Pilgrim Rosary Healing Ministry and the author of the book Gift Giver. Richard has been to Medjugorje 79 times and travels far and wide to help spread the messages of Our Lady.

Dan Davis is a seminarian in the Diocese of Ft. Wayne-South Bend. For the last few years, he has been attending the National Medjugorje Conference with his entire family. Dan's pilgrimage to Medjugorje last August confirmed him in his call to the priesthood and helped him prepare for life in the seminary. Our Lady's call from Medjugorje continues to be a major influence in his life.

Father Mark Gurtner went to Medjugorje as a teenager and felt a call to the priesthood while he was a student at Indiana University. He is a gifted teacher and preacher with the ability to make clear, concise points that instruct and inspire. He received a canon lay degree from Catholic University. He is head of the Diocesan Marriage tribunal and is the pastor of St. Anthony de Padua Parish in South Bend.

Milona von Hapsburg, arch duchess in Austria's former ruling family, abandoned a job in a fashionable Geneva auction house to do volunteer work in Medjugorje. She made a three day pilgrimage to Medjugorje and stayed 10 years, spending much of that time serving as an interpreter for Father Slavko and the visionaries.

Father David Simonetti was ordained to the priesthood in 2005 by Cardinal George. He has been to Medjugorje three times. He is the spiritual director of the Pope John Paul Eucharistic Adoration Association in Chicago and is a regular contributor on EWTN and Relevant Radio. He is the Pastor of St. James Church in Sauk Village, Illinois.

Ljilja Vokić o roditeljstvu,školi i vjeri ! - prenosi hercegovina.info

Na nedavno održanoj tribini u Odžaku o odgoju i obrazovanju mladih u današnje vrijeme govorila je bivša ministrica prosvjete u Vladi RH prof. Ljilja Vokić, ravnateljica VII. zagrebačke gimnazije.

U iznimno zanimljivom predavanju prof. Vokić je govorila iz svoga bogatog iskustva majke sedmero djece, 37. godišnjega rada u prosvjeti te iskustva ministrice.
Tako je i svoje predavanje prof. Vokić podijelila u tri dijela. U prvom dijelu je govorila o roditeljskom, potom o školskom i na koncu vjerskom odgoju. Govoreći o roditeljskom odgoju predavačica je istaknula da je danas teško biti roditelj ali je teško biti i dijete. Danas, radi velikih i naglih promjena tzv. globaliziranog svijeta današnji roditelji ali i djeca susreću se s mnogobrojnim i velikim poteškoćama koje nisu poznavale prijašnje generacije. Velika je opasnost u roditeljskom odgoju nastaje ako roditelji radi tempa današnjeg života nemaju vremena za svoju djecu. Naći svaki dan vremena da se barem upita dijeta što je bilo tijekom dana, razgovarati s djetetom, otići s njim na utakmicu, kazalište, izlet, crkvu. Ne dopustiti da dijete postane ''nevidljivo'', tj. da roditelji ne znaju s kim im se druži dijete, gdje izlazi, kada se vraća kući itd. Potom nikada ne reci mladoj osobi ''što ti znaš'', ili ''ti ništa ne znaš'', nego ''ti to možeš'', ''hrabro samo'', ''ja ću ti pomoći''.

Govoreći o školskom odgoju prof. Vokić je istaknula da je ''učiteljsko zanimanje najljepše zvanje jer ti svojom osobnošću opečaćuješ osobnost učenika. I u školskom odgoju i obrazovanju neizmjerno je važan osobni primjer''. Potom je predavačica istaknula da je radost koja se treba očitovati na ponašanju i u radu prosvjetnog djelatnik vrlo bitna. Ne popuštati učenicima u svakoj prigodi kako bi im se prosvjetni djelatnik svidio nego pokušati shvatiti učenika u njegovoj životnoj situaciji, imati srca za njega i onda kada se od njega traži da izvrši svoj zadatak i pomoći mu u tome.

Govoreći iz svoga iskustva ravnateljice istaknula je nezadovoljstvom državne mature u RH koju polažu i učenici iz BiH koji se žele upisati na studij u Hrvatskoj. Prof. Vokić je istaknula kako su na prečac uvedene novine u školstvo u Hrvatskoj. Ja javno govorim rekla je por. Vokić da je ''Državna matura'' propali nizozemski projekt. Nama se često u javnosti servira ideja kako to od nas traži Europa. A pristupni razgovori o školstvu kad je u pitanju ulazak Hrvatske u Europsku Uniju završeni su za dva sata. Europa nam je jasno rekla da je pitanje školstva stvar svake države. Ja sam se zalagala i nadalje ću se zalagati da se naše školstvo prilagodi prije svega našim potrebama i karakternim osobinama naših ljudi.

I na koncu predavačica je govorila važnosti vjerskog odgoja kako u školi tako i općenito. Kao majka profesorica i vjernica mogu posvjedočiti da je vjera kao dar Božji neizmjerno bila i ostala važna u mom životu. Zahvalna sam svojim roditeljima ali svojim vjeroučiteljima koji su mi pomogli da dođem do osobnog iskustva vjere. Tome bi trebao poslužiti i vjeronauk u školi ali još više u župi, te razne župske skupine u koje se okupljaju mladi. Posebno je ohrabrila vjeroučitelje u školama da svojim ustrajnim radom i primjerom predavajući vjeronauk u školi vrše svoju službu savjesno i radosno. Plodovi toga rada sigurno će doći. Također je potaknula roditelje da ozbiljno shvate vjeru jer s vjerom lakše podnose životne poteškoće i iz vjere se može s pomoću Božjom utjecati pozitivno i na živote svoje djece. I u tom je prakticirana ili bolje rečeno življena vjera veoma važna i za odgoj i obrazovanje današnji mladih, zaključila je svoje predavanje prof. Ljilja Vokić.
