17th International Meeting for Leaders of Peace Centres and Međugorje Prayer and Charity groups, with theme of the gathering: ". . . Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life!" (John, 6, 68), began in Međugorje on Sunday, February 28th. There are 189 participants from 15 different countries. Along with specially organised programme conducted by Fr. Ivan Landeka, Fr. Ivan Ivanda and Fr. Danko Perutina, participants are also engaged in evening prayer programme in Međugorje parish church of St. James. This international seminar of prayer and education for leaders of peace centres and prayer and charity group leaders began for the first time in 1994, with the initiative of leaders themselves, who all wanted to help to Croatian people that in those years were in extremely difficult situation due to war circumstances. First meeting already gathered participants from Australia, New Zealand, South America, United States and Europe. As the time passed by, the number of participants was becoming bigger every year, as well as diversity of language groups. Seminar closes on Thursday, March 4th.
Il diciassettesimo incontro internazionale delle guide dei centri della pace e dei gruppi di preghiera e caritativi legati a Medjugorje sul tema: «…Signore, da chi andremo? Tu hai parole di vita eterna!» (Gv 6, 68), è iniziato a Medjugorje Domenica 28 Febbraio. Al seminario sono presenti 189 partecipanti da 15 Paesi. Oltre ad un programma particolare e alle relazioni di fra Ivan Landeka, fra Ivan Ivanda e fra Danko Perutina, i partecipanti al seminario sono presenti al consueto programma serale liturgico di preghiera nella Chiesa parrocchiale di San Giacomo a Medjugorje. Questo seminario internazionale di preghiera e formazione per le guide dei gruppi di preghiera e caritativi e dei centri della pace legati a Medjugorje è iniziato nel 1994 su iniziativa delle guide stesse che desideravano aiutare il popolo croato che allora si trovava in pesanti circostanze di guerra. Già a quel primo incontro parteciparono rappresentanti dall’Australia, Nuova Zelanda, America del Sud, USA, ed Europa. Con gli anni è cresciuto il numero dei partecipanti ed anche la varietà dei gruppi linguistici. Il seminario continua fino a Giovedì 4 Marzo.
