Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, Vatican Secretary of State, will visit Mostar next weekend to ordain Msgr Petar Rajić as an Archbishop. Cardinal Vinko Puljić and bishop Ratko Perić will act as co-consecrators at the ordination on January 23.
We are all very excited about this but it seams we will not be able to approach the Cathedral. Only the press will be able to follow the event personally by obtaining the necessary permission. We,the "regular people" will have the chance to follow the event on the local TV station FTV (Television of Federation of BiH) .On 2nd December 2009, the Holy Father Benedict XVI appointed Msgr. Petar Rajic, nunciature counsellor, as apostolic nuncio to Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar, and as apostolic delegate to the Arabian Peninsula, at the same time elevating him to the dignity of archbishop. His appointment follows the retirement of Archbishop Paul-Mounged El-Hachem as Apostolic Nuncio, at the age of 75.
The archbishop-elect was born in Toronto, Canada in 1959 and ordained a priest in 1987. His parents are originally from Doljani, the parish of Dracevo, in the diocese of Trebinje-Mrkan, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It is a sad thing for me personally for not being able to be there , I mean how often one can participate an ordination of a Bishop? AnD for those who tell me is better on TV.. what can I tell you.. but ... try it! Holy mass on TV and Holy Mass in the church ....no difference. Or is there one ?
Well have to make my peace with that :-)
Medjugorje is peacful. We have one group of Italian pilgrims in the villiage now. English mass was a very small group of almost "localS".
Emanuel and I have finished the inventory (Thank you Jesus, Mary and all the angels and saints) Now all we have to do is wait for our tax receipt in February :-) Hope all will be well and we will have some money left to pay our ever coming rent, electricity, water, kindergarten, etc etc etc ( it is a pure MIRACLE of God how we do it every month!)
In the meantime we are going to make more lovely things and hope you will like them and come and purchase some of it during your stay in Medjugorje. We sure consider each of your purchases as a Divine providence for our family and we pray for you , all of you, as for our benefactors.
God bless you all !
Anita
Anita ...
ReplyDeleteDo you know Petar Rajic's position on Medjugorje?
God bless...
Praised be Jesus and MAry!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard him saying anything, but take in consideration that he is very close to our Bishop, and he frequently writes in his papers, and he offered his translation services in various occasions... I'd say, he is pretty much with opposing Medjugorje apparitions. But then again, one never know what's in one's heart :-)
Anyway, he is really high ranked in Vatican, maybe the highest ranked Croatian priest ( or should I say Herzegovina priest).
It is a holy time for us here. We are so blessed by having so many vocations, so many fruits of our prayers and sufferings.
We will give him our love and support and ALL our prayers just as I always do for all our priest ad Bishops.
