This morning I got a mail concerning our Tv station and all the problems we have ... My mind goes to MaryTV by Denis Nolan /which in the parish is considered a private project with no support of the local community/ and again I just cannot understand why would they come to our country and make their TV station to broadcast to the world. Should we remind them that we do have a radio Mir Medjugorje , which is already broadcasting all over the world through satellite and internet.
At any given moment during day and night / as program runs 24 h a day, 7 days a week) you can tune in and listen LIVE from Medjugorje.
There is a rosary and mass every evening, and f you miss it you can listen offline at any time.
You have web site www.medjugorje.hr that gives information translated into several languages.
It is true next step to be TV but in our country we are struggling to keep running the last Croatian TV station whose workers are in general strike as of today.. It is hard to be a Croatian in our country, but we have God with us! We will percervier (ok, I ma digressing)
What I was really asking myself is why not give support to the already existing media? Why not support local efforts and the official information from the sanctuary? Why not raise funds to make the facilities bigger, get more equipment and more local professional to make for example simultaneous translations, and eventually television broadcasting .
Wouldn't this be good the locals (by having high tech catholic media, opening job positions, keeping young catholic professional in the region, etc) and for the pilgrims (by receiving quality information from official source) . .
